DHV1
Canopies that are ideal for first-time pilots, and those who just want to have fun in maximum safety.
DHV1-2
Nowadays this classification is for gliders aimed at pilots with a bit of experience under their belts. They want a bit more performance so that XC flying is easier, and yet they also want a high degree of safety and security. This Spider glives them all that - and more! Meanwhile the new Grid2 is aimed at pilots who want maximum responsiveness, allied to respectable performance.
DHV2
This is the certification area where you will find out-and-out Sport canopies. Pilots wanting better XCs and with sufficient experience to look after themselves when the going gets rough will tend to be looking at DHV 2 wings. Not all DHV 2 wings are safe and easy to fly, but the Firebird Eagle is!
DHV2-3
If you are looking for the highest performance available from a relatively sensible paraglider, you may be looking for a DHV 2-3 wing. However, these are still advanced canopies, requiring advanced pilots.

Firebird have chosen to stay out of this sector of the market, because it attracts such a small percentage of the pilots, and resale values of this sort of canopy tend to be very low. Firebird do not currently build a DHV 2-3 wing, and recommend that the DHV2 Eagle is a better bet for all but a very small percentage of pilots.
Tandem
We believe that Tandem canopies have, by definition, to be pretty safe whilst being endowed with a bit of performance! So DHV 1-2 is a sensible certification to aim for.
