Firebird Paragliders Firebird paragliders have been around almost as long as paragliding. Although they are amongst the most expensive gliders on the planet, there are very good reasons for this, and the quality is evident even at a casual inspection. The high prices are the result of Firebird having installed the first laser-cutting machine in the paragliding industry. This is a mega-expensive piece of equipment that works to very fine tolerances and also heat-seals all edges. The precision with which our canopies are built is unsurpassed and this, together with the tried and tested materials used, allows Firebird to give the only 5-year guarantee in the Industry.
Also, the Firebird UK Guaranteed Part Exchange means that when you want to update to a new Firebird wing, we will take your old wing back, no problem.
Harnesses We are sole UK distributors for paragliding harnesses from Charly, Firebird and Von Blon.
Reserves We are the sole UK distributors for reserves from Charly and Firebird, and we also sell the excellent Metamorfosi reserve systems. Simon enjoyed an emergency deployment of his Charly Revolution 1 whilst flying in the Alps in August, and emerged almost totally unscathed - so he really does know what he is talking about when it comes to reserves!
Helmets Firebird UK are the sole UK distributors for Charly helmets, and don't see any need to sell other makes. Indeed, Simon feels he may well owe his life to a particular orange Charly Insider which was destroyed during a rather violent accident. Simon had a bad headache, but his head sustained no lasting damage (or so he insists).
Instruments We are the Sole UK importers for Renschler, who manufacture instruments for both Free Flight and Radio-controlled sailplanes (see separate section of our shop). We also sell Brauniger instruments. Choosing an instrument is a very personal matter, and audio tone and the quality of the visual display are important factors. Simon invariably flies with Renschler varios, Harriet and Martyn choose Brauniger, so honours are divided.
Clothing We have been the sole UK distributors for FlyMike flying suits (and Firebird, of course) for about ten years, and have no reason to change allegiances. The quality of design and construction is unsurpassed. Fortunately, selling these suits gives us the excuse of using our photos of the delicious Abi, so no doubt you will enjoy this section of the shop! We also distribute Zoot products around the world.
Accessories We have a very wide range of paragliding accessories which tends to expand all the time, so keep an eye on this section for regular additions to the range. Quite a few of our products are exclusive to us, and there may be nothing similar on the market.
